The Rotary Club of Blanco County is now managing the blue Medical Equipment Exchange building on 9th Street IN BLANCO. This is a service provided to the community, where citizens can BORROW or donate medical equipment. If you, or someone you know, needs equipment such as a walker, cane, crutches, wheelchair, shower bench/chair, commode chair, knee brace, etc., you might find just the right piece of equipment at the blue medical supply building on 9th Street. If you have medical equipment you no longer need, you may donate it at the blue building. Items should be in good, clean condition. Hospital beds/mattresses or any items that cannot be wiped down and sanitized cannot be accepted. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR ISSUES, please contact ROTARIANS Ken Smith (361) 813-8766 (text preferred) or Harvie Lindeman (210) 860-1191 (call preferred). Pictured left to right are Ken Smith, Hal Switzer, Harvie Lindeman, Steve Kumbalek, Norman Eubank, and Jay Slaughter, OUR ROTARY TEAM who worked very hard in cleaning out, repairing, and painting the “blue building.”

The Rotary Club of Blanco County has created hygiene kits to provide essential supplies to residents facing homelessness, poverty, or displacement due to a natural disaster. The kits contain a washcloth, soap, shampoo, deodorant, comb, toothbrush/toothpaste, and have been provided to Blanco County Good Samaritan and Gem of the Hills, who will distribute them as needed. Distributing these kits helps improve public health, restore dignity, and offer a sense of stability to vulnerable members of the community.

Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Blanco County (RCBC) visited each Blanco ISD campus on Monday morning, August 11, and presented each teacher with a Carnation and Thank You card. The card read:  “We Thank you for teaching and caring for our kids and wish you a successful school year.” The RCBC was formed in 2018 with a Motto of “Service above Self."  Supporting the education of our youths is a major goal of Rotary. If you are interested in becoming a Rotarian and supporting our community and beyond, please contact Teri McKenzie at: terimckenzie@gvtc.com.

Our Rotary Club is saddened by the passing of our fellow Rotarian, Don Van Eynde. Rest in peace Don. You will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dixie and the family.
